Self publishing a novel has never been easier. Turning that into a financial return. Well I guess that's a whole different ball game. If that's what you are looking for?

For me, writing a novel was never about making money. It just happened. When it was completed, the question was - did I want anyone to read it? If I did, could I get beyond the self doubt? Was it credible? Could I afford to publish it?

Here we are. BONKAS is published. Self published maybe, but published. Hopefully with the help of a few friends, word of mouth, and a nice review or two, BONKAS might find an audience.

I have priced Bonkas at £7.99 as that's as low a price I can list it without making a loss. Priced at £7.99 I will make a profit of £0.76p per sale.

I'm not complaining. Without the services of a platform such as Amazon, BONKAS would most likely never see print. And who knows, it may lead somewhere?

So, I was wondering what to do with the hopeful mountain of £0.76p royalty payments. I thought about an apartment overlooking Central Park or paying a UK winter fuel bill.

Then I thought of something much better. St David's Hospice.

Tracey said many profound things.

One was - "You meet the most incredible people when you're dying"

St David's are some of those people. They could do with lots of £0.76p's

For me, writing Bonkas was never about a financial return. It was about highlighting the UK funeral sector is not regulated by a statutory code of conduct. A situation that needs addressing as a matter of urgency. Until it is, unbeknown by those who rely on it. It's like the wild west.
